Living Our Faith Together
At Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, ministries are how we live out our faith together. They are the hands and feet of the church — the way we serve God by serving one another and our community. Every ministry gives us an opportunity to grow spiritually, build lasting relationships, and make a real difference in people’s lives. Whether it’s teaching our children about Jesus, supporting families through life’s ups and downs, or lifting our voices in worship, each ministry reflects our shared calling to love God and love others. This was Paul’s vision for the church in Ephesians 4:11-16, where everyone graciously uses their gifts “for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ….”

Children in Action
Led by: Children in Action Team (Contact, Nicki Hiatt)
Our Children in Action ministry helps kids discover that they are never too young to make a difference for Christ. Through Bible lessons, hands-on mission projects, summer camps, and fun weekly gatherings like AWANA (Wednesdays, 6:45–8:00 PM), children aged 2 - fifth grade learn the basics of the Christian faith. This ministry seeks to help your child grow in faith, build lasting friendships, and begin to see how God can use their hearts and hands to serve others — at home, in school, and around the world. We believe that your children are a gift from God, and we seek to treat them as such. Each person that works with your child has been vetted, and has completed a mandatory abuse prevention course. We look forward to meeting, serving, and loving you and your family.
When: Every Wednesday evening from 6:45–8:00 p.m.
MPBC Youth
Led by: Youth Team (Contact, Nicole White)
The MPBC Youth ministry equips the next generation to stand strong in their faith, live it out authentically, and proclaim it boldly to those around them. Students in grades 6–12 meet every Wednesday at 7:00 PM for Bible study, worship, and fellowship that’s real, relevant, and rooted in God’s Word. Beyond church walls, our youth serve through outreach and mission projects, attend camps and retreats, and find a place where they belong — a place to grow, ask hard questions, and experience the joy of walking with Christ together. If there has ever been a time that our next generation needs intentional avenues for true community, it’s now. With ever growing rates of isolation and depression among our youth, MPBC Youth provides an opportunity to put down the phone and get involved in the lives of others - others who will support, care, and love them through the highs and lows of life.
When: We meet on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. for Bible study, worship, outreach, and mission projects

Baptist Women
Led by: Terry Harris
Our Baptist Women’s ministry is a group of “sisters growing together” in faith, friendship, and service. Women of all ages are encouraged to get involved. Whether it is gathering together for breakfast and the Word, attending women’s conferences, or serving our community together, these women live out their faith with compassion and purpose — encouraging one another while extending God’s love to those who need it most. We believe that the Bible calls the older women of the church to disciple the younger women, and this is one of the best avenues at MPBC for accomplishing this goal.
When: Meetings/events are planned and called by the leader (typically once a quarter)
Baptist Men
Led by: Tony Harris
The Baptist Men of Mount Pleasant can be summarized as a “brotherhood.” Here, men from all ages get to know one another on a deep, personal level at the church and in the community. Monthly breakfast meetings are designed to foster growth in the Word and in fellowship, but their reach extends beyond the church walls. They are committed to serving God through action. Whether building ramps for those in need, responding to disaster relief, or supporting mission efforts through NC Baptist Men, this group puts faith into motion. It is in these moments that their true ministry happens out in the community, where they lend a helping hand and share the hope of Christ through their work and witness. We believe that the Bible calls the older men of the church to disciple the younger men, and this is one of the best avenues at MPBC for accomplishing this goal.
When: Breakfast (first sunday of every month at 8am); service projects planned as needed

Music
Led by: Laura Parker
Our Music Ministry is at the heart of our worship. Each week, voices and instruments join together to lift praise to God, reminding us that worship isn’t just something we do — it’s who we are. From the joyful sounds of congregational singing to the special music offered by our choir and musicians, every song is an act of devotion meant to draw hearts closer to Christ. Whether you sing, play, or simply love to worship, there’s a place for you in the Music Ministry to help make a joyful noise unto the Lord.
When: The Praise Band and Choir practices Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. and Wednesday nights at 8 p.m.
L.I.N.K.S Ministry
Led By: Phillip Ratley
The mission of L.I.N.K.S. Ministry (Sunday School) is to connect individuals and families in a spirit of Love, by Inspiring, Nurturing, Knowing, and Sharing God’s Word in unity and faith. We strive to create a welcoming community where everyone feels valued and included, fostering meaningful relationships that strengthen our bonds and deepen our spiritual journey. Through outreach, discipleship, fellowship, and shared service, we aim to showcase the love of Christ, embracing our diverse backgrounds and experiences to grow together in faith and propose. We believe that by linking arms as one body, we can make a profound impact in our church and our community, reflecting the light of God’s love to all with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
LINKS is the central hub that connects Christian education & fellowship across all age groups within our church, from Nursery to Senior Adults. The best way to learn more about LINKS and to get involved is by meeting our volunteers at our welcome center for coffee and doughnuts anytime from 9-9:30 am on Sunday mornings (follow the ‘welcome’ signs around the building).

Primetimers Ministry
The Primetimers ministry believes that nobody is ever too old to experience genuine Christian fellowship. “Primetimers” is made up of seniors or, as we like to call them, the young at heart. There is no strict age limit for this group. Maybe you just retired and have more free time on your hands. Perhaps you just lost a spouse, and in your grief are looking for connection. Whatever the case may be, this group is waiting for you to join them on their monthly fellowship outings. Times and locations for these outings will be announced in advance in the church bulletin.

Answer The Call to Serve
At Mount Pleasant, ministry isn’t just something we offer — it’s something we share. Every person has a God-given gift and a place to make a difference. Whether your passion is teaching, singing, serving, or simply showing up with a willing heart, there’s a ministry here where you can grow, belong, and live out your faith in meaningful ways. We invite you to pray about where God is calling you to serve — and take the next step by getting involved in the ministry that speaks to your heart.
