A Message From Pastor Dylan

If you’ve ever walked into a church and felt like a stranger, I understand. I’ve been there. From the hundreds of unknown faces to the polished, perfect atmosphere we often try to manufacture during a worship service, it all seems so overwhelming. That’s not what we want for you here at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.
At Mount Pleasant, we like to say this is “Where Faith Feels Like Home.” Not because it sounds good, but because that’s truly what you’ll experience week after week — people who know your name, who show up when life gets hard, who walk with you as you walk with Jesus, who listen, pray, and sometimes just sit with you when there aren’t easy answers (Colossians 3:12-17)
One of the most meaningful things anyone ever said to me was, “Thank you for being my friend.” That simple sentence captures what ministry means to me. Friendship doesn’t replace truth; it’s the bridge that helps truth be heard, accepted, and acted upon, in faith, for the purpose of a growing relationship with our God and one another. I’m here to be a shepherd — someone who guides you through life’s mountains and valleys, who encourages you onward into Christlikeness, and who equips you to help others do the same (Ephesians 4:11-16).
Our church is intimate, and honestly, that’s part of what makes it special. In a world that feels more disconnected than ever, there’s something powerful about belonging to a community where people genuinely care for one another. You’ll experience it when someone’s sick and meals just show up at their doorstep. You’ll feel it when you walk in and someone remembers the prayer request you shared last week.

Our goal is to impact the lives of every member. What matters most to me is that we embrace God’s Word together, learn what it means to follow Jesus Christ, and live out our faith in the world around us by the power of His Spirit. My God-given task in this is to preach and teach the Bible, which I believe tells the true story of the whole world. Week-by-week as I proclaim this true story, my prayer is that you will find your place in it, and that you will come to a greater knowledge of, love for, and obedience to God’s Word.
If you’re looking for a place to belong, to grow, and to be loved… a place where faith feels real and people feel like family… I’d love for you to come see what God is doing here at Mount Pleasant. We’ll save you a seat.
Hope to meet you soon,
– Pastor Dylan Cook
