The mission of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world around us through Word and deed, to equip and encourage God's people to live a Christ-centered life and to win the lost to Christ through personal witness and evangelism, and to be sensitive and submissive to the Holy Spirit that we may live disciplines Christian lives, walk with the Lord daily and grow in Christ.

Dylan Cook
Pastor
Dylan grew up in Jonesville, NC, about 20 minutes from Mount Pleasant. He is married to Makayla, and they live in Mooresville, NC. During his time at Appalachian State, Dylan felt the call to pastoral ministry. After graduating from App State with a degree in exercise science, he went to Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he graduated with an MDiv. in pastoral ministry. In his free time, Dylan enjoys sports, music, and good coffee.
Laura Parker
Minister of Music
Laura is from Yadkin County. She graduated from Catawba College in Salisbury, NC, with a Bachelor of Arts. While there, she double majored in Music Education and Performace and received a minor in Religion. Laura has been leading worship here at Mount Pleasant for over 30 years. She is married to Ken Parker. They have two children, Jonathan and Sarah, who both attend the University of Tennessee. Go Vols! Laura enjoys music, classic vanilla milkshakes, anything with coconut and golden retrievers.
Rita Hinson Wiles
Administrative Assistant
Rita grew up in the State Road community and attended Surry Community College. She is married to Neil Wiles and has been employed by MPBC as church secretary for 26 years. Rita loves Jesus, her family, and friends, her pets (Okie & Lovey), photography, the outdoors and music of all genres.
Travis and Ashley Golden
Youth Leaders
Travis (36) and Ashley (35) have been married for 11 years and they have two children, Gideon and Lydia. Travis grew up here in the State Road community, graduating from East Wilkes. He came to Christ as an early teen, and is forever grateful for Christ's love and grace. He enjoys reading, music, sports, and anything outdoors. With a strong sense of duty to God, his family, and country, Travis is passionate about serving others. Ashley grew up in Yadkin County. She graduated from Liberty University, receiving a BS in Developmental Psychology, and is currently working towards a Masters in teaching. She enjoys crafting and spending time with her family. Ashley feels that her calling in life is to serve children and teens.
